so what is the optimal amount of ram i should be letting it use ?

edit: ive read i should be letting it use 800mb for the os and the client to run properly on foldingforums

would that be right ?
I usually set it at 512mb. I haven't noticed any benefit to adding more RAM.

3. Now in Windows navigate to your network and you should see your VMWare install named Ubuntu. Open it and type your username and password you just set up.

re-downloaded it, and got it to work.

but FaHMon don't always identify the VMware client, when it doesn't, i have to login to \\ubuntu.

is there anyway to set up a guest account, so there is no need to login?

Are you running 64-bit VMware?
Did you select the 64-bit version of Linux in the virtual machine settings?
Did you install a 64-bit Linux?
Do you have virtualization enabled in your BIOS?

I redownloaded the server app and it says for 64 bit and 32 bit.. so idk if i have to change a setting or something. there is nothing in the installation about which to chose.. the linux is 64 bit yes... and i will reboot and see ifi have virtualization enabled.

EDIT: mobo was the problem thanks. +REP
