Default Quad Times and Dual Core Times

I wanted to try out an E6850 since I have seen some good results posted and wanted to point out the fairly large difference between a Quad and a Dualcore for Folding prowess.

A Q6600 @ 3.6ghz is producing 1% of a WU every 8:53 on a P5K dlx DDR2 RAM at 900 5 5 5 18

An E6850 @ 3.6ghz is producing 1% of a WU every 12:00 on a P5K3 dlx DDR3 at 1333.

I was kind of surprised at the gap.

Hey CD, I'm doing similar with my computer, %1 of WU ~12-12.5 mins in Vista SMP client. Actually I'd expect to see a larger gap. But still I wish I had 4 cores

CD, try going 450x8 instead of 400x9. I shave about a minute per %. When it's idling i'm doing 7:58 per %. When i'm surfing etc it's about 8:30 per % with WinSMP.

Same WU?

That Quad time seems slow if it's the standard 1760 point unit.

I went a step further and am currently Folding at 8 x 500 (4 ghz)

I have never had a rig that could Fold stable at 4ghz on water. I was able to Fold on Phase at 4g but not water...that's different.

59-60C load at 1.488

I am now getting 11:20 1% times

To match a quad you'd have to be phasing at nearly 5 Ghz I think...

Your quad seems kinda slow there CD. I'm pulling 7:49/frame @ 3.6GHz/DDR2-800 4-4-4-12 2T with WINSMP. I'm going to switch over to Linux soon- I expect ~10min/frame X 2 clients.
