Default Guide: FahMon with VMware

This will not work if you're running VMware under a NAT connection

The purpose of this guide is to have the VMware folding client work with FahMon. The Ubuntu is provided by bal3wolf and the guide provided by bal3wolf and PhelanJKell to have that setup can be found here.

1. download FahMon.

2. install fahmon.

3. Open up VMware. Then hit Crtl+a+d

4. Type ifconfig

5. Search for the IP that is in the red box. (It will be different than mine).

6. Open up fahmon.

7. Right click and add a new client.

8. Give it a name and enter the ip into the location. Ex.
\\192.168.1.78\folding\

9. Click ok and it should work.

10. If it says the client is "hung", then go to FahMon, Preferences, Monitoring, and check the box reading "Ignore asynchronous clocks".

If you're running two VMware clients then all you need to do is just do is repeat the steps for the 2nd client.

Good luck and happy folding!

Thanks Bal3wolf for providing me with the Ubuntu and also lsclincoln for showing me how to setup VMware with FahMon. I just put this into a guide.

do you want to add support for a quad?
all of this info is from bal3wolf and credit should be given to him, open up vmware and type in crt+a+d, ifconfig and find the ip starting with 192.xxx.x.xxx
then follow steps 1 and 2, then instead of step 3, continue to step 6, and at step 7, put \\(your ip)\folding\
and then continue and you are done
+rep for the good job tho

Great guide! Ended up having to use the IP address of the virtual machine though instead.
