compat-libstdc++-5 and/or
compat-32bit-

although they may be installed by default

Lol it was even later/earlier here.

For Suse you would need to do

yast -i compat-libstdc++-5 compat-32bit

I think but that would have to be tested by somebody.

You don't need wget on osx it has curl
curl -O url http://myurl/file

Well in perl it can be done but you'll need the LWP module which doesn't come included on most distros.

But for any system with Ruby this will work:

Thanks for the code, but I'd rather stay with the bounds of the stuff that I kinda know... ie Bash, Python, C++
