Squealing noises are capacitor or PWM noises, I guess. I get it too, but it's nothing I lose sleep over (literally I sleep next to the PC and it's not so annoying

I added 'OS' as a category to the bench because I thought it might be interesting in the long term when you get many benchies sorted on a table. I don't know, your call.

Edit: did you do the workaround to make driver 177.35 to work on your 64bit Vista?

Yes. Run the executable, get the obligatory 'you didn't spend $900 on our newest oldest piece of hardware so you are denied' message, paste the new .inf so kindly provided by iceblade into the folder it extracted to, run setup. No hitches at all

I have yet to try anything else but folding because this thing is so addicting - I'm climbing so many places in my old team with this it's ridiculous.

The squealing noises is normal for me. If I run a very intense game or ATITool's 3D box view, I get the exact same noise.

Tried the 177.35 modded drivers for XP 32Bit and they kept locking up the PC, not even a BSOD, just hard lock so I reverted back to the ones now running. My CPU settings are low because while this is a GPU client it uses a TON of CPU for me so do anything or even reply to this message I have to set on or below 50% on the slider. (Way tooooooo much CPU usage IMO)

With higher CPU my PPD goes way up into 4k range...

You didnt need to modify 177.35 if you are on a x86 OS!

Pretty sure you need to either way, the drivers are for 200 series cards and won't recognize older cards no matter which OS, I think.

No i didnt have to mod the drivers for vista 32bit they installed right to it no problems on a 8800gt but they were the 177.26 not the 177.35.
