Default Which Distro/Guide to use?

I just got Linux SMP clients running in VMware following purdueman's guide using VMware Player. Is there a reason I should switch to Bal3wolf's distro/guide over the one I have used? I'd be able to track my clients with FahMon (which I can't currently do with VMware player), which would be nice, but will this method be more efficient? Is VMware Server better than VMware Player?

I'm getting about 11-12mins per percent on both clients right now.

Thanks all.

I found that VMware Server takes forever to load in Vista. That is the main reason why I switched over to VMware Player. If you need to figure out how to get FahMon to work with VMware Player, follow the guide in my signature.
