What should I expect?
EVGA 8800 GTS 320 (g80) Superclocked ECS 8800 GTS 512mb (g92) **EDIT** Do I have to have the display going in order for the gpu to fold? Cause everytime I close the display and then open it again it begins counting again (doesn't work in background??)

~4000 - ~4500 ppd for the 320. About 1000 more for the 8800GT. Depending on what you can squeeze out of that shader clock

Both are gts, and for stability i'm thinking of doing stock for both

He's asking how many points per day he can earn when he runs the GPU2 client on each video card for Folding at Home.
CravinR1: Well, I haven't had any stability issues with just upping the shader clock... and that's the one that matters most . I say.. around 4200 for the 320, and low 5000's for the 512.

'Folding' refers to the 'Folding @ Home' project by Stanford University. It's an ongoing research that involves how proteins fold. Improper folding of proteins could cause all kinds of diseases such as Alzheimers and Hodgskins Disease. Instead of building a giganormously expensive supercomputer, Stanford decided for a 'distributed computing environment'. Everyone with a PC or PS3 can download the folding client and help with the research.
To make the whole thing a bit competitive, Stanford awards points for each completed work unit. That's where the point per day refer to ![]()
