What do you mean stolen? Once you use it, it's yours. Other people can use it(fold for you) but it's still yours.

Why does it matter?

Worst comes to worse, some one accidentally punches in your username and folds under your name for a while.

You can set a "pass string" that is 32 characters long (on the GPU client at least), but that is a tad excessive.

Wouldn't it benefit you if someone used your username? Then points show up on your account.

someone else could grab it and claim it's his/hers.

Make it something unique or that only you could provide reasoning for. Blatantly obvious works, too. Not many other people are likely to claim that "OCNet_Chipp" is the name they use.
