I fold for my girlfriend (well now ex... kinda... its weird). She has lupus. Anything I can do to help I want to do, and folding isnt even hard. Other than installing a program, there is no other work for it.

And I love the new GPU folding, I got my 8800 GT running hard and fast.

Honestly, I don't know much about the Folding on PC, competition or the like. I have asked, but am without answers. Also, I don't want to increase my bill too much on electricity as I am a tight enough budget as it is. I do respect anyone who folds in the least bit though.

Thanks fellas your words are much appreciated. I think the pint systems is good as it does serve as an incentive for the competitive. Thus it serves to boost the overall folding power.

I think there are MANY people in the world that FOLD because of loved ones or loved ones that we have lost.

Lets all keep up the Folding where we can to keep others from suffering!

There is no such thing as a perfect world but we can take steps to make it better and better all the time.

1) A good cpu cooler not too many people know about -> XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 | AKA OCZ Vendetta 2
2) The 8 PIN power connector on the MOBO is 2x 4pin power connectors combined in parallel to draw more power safely. 1x 4pin power plug will work, but you should think of an upgrade.
3) If you're running x64 OS and have more than 3GB ram installed but windows is only reporting around 3GB, Go into your bios and enable Memory remapping.

Of course! EVERY little bit helps.

I've been hooked on the folding bug since January. I can't afford a huge folding farm (I so totally would pull a Gibson and trick my laundry room with quads though ), but I do the best I can with what I have. I must say, I do my fair share of science

I don't have anyone to personally fold for, but that doesn't mean I never will or should just stop because it doesn't affect me. Everyone should try it at least once, no matter their situation (provided they can afford it, but who can't if they have a computer that can meet deadlines?).

Enterprise, I'm truely sorry to read this, and especially, about your little one. I do feel you though. Alot of people don't know this, but my wife is fighting cancer, she is winning, but it has been a long hard battle. This is one of the reasons why I'm so dedicated to the folding program. I also fold for the cause, but you can say I have a personal interest in it. Anyways, I wish nothing but the best for you and yours. Good luck.
