folding temps are crazy!!!!!!! no more folding until i get better cooling

i installed the gpu2 and smp folding today for the first time.. its been running all day almost done with the first WU and i look at my temps
almost 80C !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! no more folding

turn up that gfx fan and put some more airflow in your case
i had a 8800gs oced at 650 and it was around 60 ish.

1) A good cpu cooler not too many people know about -> XIGMATEK HDT-S1283 | AKA OCZ Vendetta 2 2) The 8 PIN power connector on the MOBO is 2x 4pin power connectors combined in parallel to draw more power safely. 1x 4pin power plug will work, but you should think of an upgrade. 3) If you're running x64 OS and have more than 3GB ram installed but windows is only reporting around 3GB, Go into your bios and enable Memory remapping.

try using rivia tuner or a simalar program to increase your GPU fan speed, when i am folding my GPU runs at 57 with 100% fan, which i can hardly hear.

Is that your GPU or CPU temp? If it's the GPU, you're totally fine. GPUs can handle 100*c+...

see thats the problem.. it was my CPU... i lowered the clockspeed to 2.7 and im seeing how it works now

yeh you really don't want to take a quad much past 2.7 with intel's stock cooler.
To put it plainly, they aren't exactly great.

^ Yep. You OC a Quad on stock you asking for HOT temps.
That's why your suppose to run Prime for a bit after you OC, so you can make sure your temps aren't crazy high. ![]()

Oh christ, that's why. Spend $40 and get an aftermarket cooler, you'll be OCing like no tomorrow before you know it

well the thing is also my temps dont get this hot in prime95.. they stay around the 60C mark
