I dont see that kitchen light curing anything soon
Might I point out that electricity consumption does pollute the planet. It's not the electricity it's self, it's the method of generating the electricity, be it burning coal, wood, diesel, or even if it's nuclear energy, there IS an environmental footprint. It may not be the largest of footprints, but it is there.

Well, as long as you unscrew 1 light bulb from your house there will be virtually no change in consumption.

Nice thread. I've been folding 24/7 for a long time now, but always figured it used more power than that. Nice to know its not a huge increase over idle. Although I do see the gpu having a larger jump from idle for those not already taxing it like you do with your amazing set of screens(I want).

Thanks .

Folding doesnt use much power, but there is a big difference between the computer being on and off. But if the computer is on, I needs to be folding.

Any updates from the Kill-A-Watt with GPU folding? I should be getting my 9600GSO soon and am curious how much more electricity it will take than the CPU client I'm currently running, if any...
