My 9600GSO uses about 75w when folding (~75w idle (single core CPU, 1 hdd, 2 cooling fans and the GSO) and goes to ~ 140-150w when GPU folding. With 2 GSO's, it is between 220-240w.

That varies per case.
It took me a few weeks to notice it. My dad found it in 4 seconds.

I know quite a few "normal" people who never turn their computers off.

I always standby...
On topic though, you have to consider two things for electricity usage while folding. 1. Electricity used by your computer when folding, compared to electricity used by your computer when sitting idle or turned off (depending on what you would do with your computer when it wasn't folding). 2. If you cool your house with AC in the summer, and heat it with electricity in the winter, then double the electricity if you're folding in the summer and zero out the electricity usage in the winter. This is because all electricity used by your computer is released as heat - in the summertime, your AC has to work extra to get rid of that heat, but in the wintertime, folding will help your heating system. If your computer puts out 300w of heat, then that's 300w of energy less that your heating system has to use, so they effectively zero each other out.
