How to use Multi GPU Nvidia Folding - Overclock.net

I haven't tried this in XP, but here it is for vista. YOU MUST HAVE SLI DISABLED FOR THIS TO WORK!, you will also need at least one extra monitor temoprarily.
1. navigate to C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming and find the Folding@home-gpu folder

2. copy that folder and paste it into C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming, it should put something liek copy or (2) at the end to differentiate.

3. rename the folder Folding@home-gpu2* (*whatever GPU you want it to be for)

4. repeat steps two and three so you have as many folders as you have GPUS so it looks like mine

5. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Folding@home\Folding@home-gpu

6. Right click on Folding@home.exe, and click create shortcut

7. Rename the shortcut folding@home.exe gpu1* (*again replace the 1 with the GPU that you want it to start with)

8. repeat steps 6 and 7 as needed changing the number at the end to correspond with the GPU you want it to start

9. right click the shortcut and choose properties

10. in the target box put "C:\Program Files (x86)\Folding@home\Folding@home-gpu\Folding@home.exe" -gpu 0 ("" included) for the first GPU. here's where it gets tricky GPU 0 is the first GPU, gpu 1 is the second and so on. So when you repeat this step you need to put the correct number.

11. In the start in box put C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu\ for the first GPU, C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Folding@home-gpu2\, for the second, and so on.

12. repeat steps 10 and 11 as neccisary replacing the numbers to correspond with the GPU you want it to start.

13. now you need an extra monitor, so hook it up to the second GPU you want to run

14. right click on the desktop and choose personalize

15. Choose display settings, and find the monitor you have hooked up to the second GPU

16. Tick the Extend the desktop onto this monitor option to enable that GPU, and hit apply

17. click the shortcut you made for the cooresponding GPU.

18. repeat steps 13 through 17 for each extra GPU you want to fold on.

That's interesting, however, can't you unhook the screens after you've set your folding, but before starting to fold? If that works out, I'll make sure to start using that.

yup you can unhook them as soon as you start folding.

Somewhere at the FAH Forum there was mention of a resistor or jumper to fool the card into think there is a monitor.
Sorry, I can't seem to find it ATM
