so i have one of the racks all set up now. i've tested two of 3 mobos that i got on ebay and they work perfectly.

this is with noctua heatsinks NH-C12P. GPUs are 4x ASUS Top 9600GSO.

this is with noctua heatsink.NH-U12P. GPUs consist of 4x eVGA 9600GSO.

after my zip tying frenzy to make the cabling look tidy.

all was great until i ran into a problem... the freaking gpus are way too big and i didn't account for it... so my HDD is getting pushed around.. going to redrill new holes for it to be closer to the other drive so it isn't getting all bent out of shape.


things that i'm missing from this rig. are.... monitor and kvm.

haha... well for the folding racks.. yea.. a total of 16gpus. my techstation has 2x 8800GT right now but will have 3 later. my crappy dell has 1x 8800GT. and my sig rig also has 2x 8800GT. another rig that i'm buliding will either have 3x 9800GX2s or the newer GX2 from nvidia if it still comes out. so right now, i have a total of 21gpus and later on, i'll have 25gpus but 28 gpu clients running.

i already can't wait to see your future folding farm!

Is it safe (re: temperate wise) to have those 9600GSOs so close to eachother like that?

If they are then I won't even bother trying to get all single slot cards! I can't wait to get a folding rig up >:3
