Once I get my system up and running, I'm really going to have to give the vmware and Linux another go.

I tried it when I had my QX9650 and it never worked, but if you're getting 5500 out of your Q9550 Error10, then my i7 920 definitely needs to fold that way.

not really impressive I get about 3,400 ppd but all 8 threads are not being used and this was with folding all three gpu's to at the same time.

Also no matter what I did I would get 350ppd with my old memory I threw in my dual channel till my new triple comes in tommorow and got over 3k right away without touching anything... bad memory caused lots of havok... No wonder I couldnt get 27k in 06 again since I got the triple kit.

theoretically you could run 4 instances of this under VMWare,
which is more efficient than windows smp......holy crap i think i..nevermind.

4 cores 4 threads = two instances
4 cores 8 threads = four instances?
unless i'm mistaken.

still that's really nice PPD.

Windows SMP sucks. Linux SMP is where it's at. <points to 22,000 PPD>

If you insist on running Windows then here's the way you want to test the Core i7:

1. Disable HT in BIOS.
2. Run TWO VMware+Linux SMP clients for one WU (-oneunit option) and monitor the PPD.
3. Enable HT in BIOS.
4. Run FOUR VMware+Linux SMP clients for one WU (-oneunit option) and monitor the PPD.
5. Post the PPD shown by FahMon for each.

Results from such a test will contribute significantly to overclock.net.
