regular client pc -"Jeez I don't know guys, we already folding none stop"
smp client pc- "Well I guess I could start another instance of vmware... effectivly doubling my ppd."
gpu client pc-" I have another pci-e slot open and ready to go!!!"

my rig- "dude I already blew up two power supplies, I'm Sli ready but instead you decided fill up all 3 of my pci-e slots and run the separately, 2 of my cores have been at 100% for well over a month, what more do you do you want me to do?!?!?"

edit: I guess I could add a card to my cousin's computer, or or sell my 8800gts to someone here...or build another rig

nafljhy hit the nail on the head - It's just motivation and fun.

The outcome is always that many more WUs are done for Stanford and even when things calm down, the net is positive.
