Hi all. I'm only averaging 5k with the sig rig. Seems like it should be a bit more.
Can y'all tell me which drivers I should be using? (I like to play Oblivion, and soon Fallout3, I'd rather not have to switch drivers to play them). Right now I'm using 178.28, the ones from the CUDA page. Is it better for me to try the VMware thing, or just to focus more on the GPU? Also, should I keep the GPU client updated all the time? (It's not right now) I'd appreciate the help/links. Just trying to add as much as I can! ~JD

Overclock your shaders on your card. More shaders= more PPD.

here's my setup.
as stated above, GPU folding benefits more from shader OC's. you should be getting closer to 6k ppd with a 9800gtx, mine is usually around 6300ish so far the best drivers i've used for folding were 177.35's but i'll be experimenting with some newer ones over the next few days

Tks Smoke, let me know if you find a sweet spot!
H00chi3, I was running 800/1998/2200(mem), and it actually slowed my folding down with the 178.28. I dropped back down to 800/19(whatever the next strap down is)/2200. This is earning me ~5.5K WITH my miserable little cpu input.

Lower memory, clock up shaders, keep core stock

Actually, I found from experimenting that raising the core clock also raises ppd. I tried raising just the shaders, and it was only minimally raising the ppd. When I also raised the core, the ppd shot up. Raising the core only has little effect, though. So, you really have to raise both. May just be a G80 thing, though.

On my cards, Core 600, Shaders 1836, Ram 900, I am putting out 5750PPD so that x3 is not bad at all for one day, 17250!
