Errr Win 7...
Ok guys,
Here's my lil problem. Been folding 24/7 on Win7 for 2 days straight, not a prob, not even an error. Yesterday, I tried oc'ing my gfx card a bit more (it's a MSI HD4850), from 720MHz core to 740MHz, system went on lockdown due to not enough vGPU, so I rebooted. Well, since then the F@H-GPU2 client won't work anymore. It still works on Vista (but I, by far, prefer Win7) but on Win7 all I get everytime I start it is the following error message : "Folding @ Home has stopped working - An error has caused the program to stop working correctly, please close the program". I've tried : - Rebooting - Restoring gfx card clocks to factory defaults - Repairing the install of GPU2 client - Uninstalling it, reboot, then reinstall it again - Same as above but also wiped the damn folders for GPU2 with a work unit at 93% completed  Nothing would change. Last thing I haven't tried yet is to switch to an older Catalyst version, imma do it as soon as I've posted this. So if somebody already encountered the same problem, or if somebody have ideas as to how I may be able to solve this issue, I'd be able to fold 24/7 again.

Ouch....
"Folding @ Home has stopped working - An error has caused the program to stop working correctly, please close the program" At least I can't blame MS on my problems  but you can! It does seem Vista is a bit fussyer than XP with the OCing and i7 may be even more so

Switching back to the 9.1 Catalysts wouldn't work, same for the beta 8.12 for Win7 or w/e you can find on ATI's website...
And I really really don't wanna have to install Win7 all over again, and lose all my lil tweaks at the same time...

Have you tried playing a video game that will stress the vga card and see if that works

@Tufelhunden: the drivers listed in Win Update are the exact same beta ones you can find on ATI's website, so yeah tried these.
@slickwilly: Imma do that but thing is I don't have anything that would really stress the GPU. Wait, actually I think I still have F.E.A.R. 2 demo somewhere, gonna try that.

Cant believe this crap
Turns out that lockdown I had, it corrupted a DX9 file which is what was preventing GPU2 from working... At least now I can start folding again, top 1500 here I come
