Why not switch to Avira? That's what I had to do this morning for the same thing with Avast and now everything is fine. No more false positive...

Have you checked the Avast forums (do they have any) perhaps you could alert them to this problem. I use avast but with VMware and no issues . . . yet. :crosses fingers:

I sent avast a message that it was a false positive (or so I believe).

I do not know how to set an exception for this....will research....still down for SMP folding until I fix it.

EDIT....I am going to try Gobee's fix from the stanford forum and see how that works this afternoon after work.....

Default Any solutions yet???

Just wondering if anyone had any solutions to this problem aside from ditching AVAST?

I found Avira to be less intrusive and less clunky compared to Avast.

Just add the folding folder to exceptions in Avast. Right click the icon > program settings > exclusions.

Add the folder that the f@h data and program are in (the data is the one Fahmon wants to see, program is probably program files/folding@home or similar).

Really surprised nobody said this before.

I restarted the SMP and it was able to run this time.....I am conducting a couple of virus scans right now as well. Before I did this I updated the AVAST program and it 'seems' to be functioning correctly as of this minute.

Perhaps AVAST looked into the reports of a false positive.

Time will tell...until then folding is back on for SMP unless it craps out again.

Thanks Taiketo! Appreciate you taking the time to walk me through that....just started the SMP when you were writing so if it comes back with a problem I will add it to the exclusions as you suggested!
