Wait does points count how important it was or is it just a number?

I dont care about stupid records or $50 monthly give-a-ways i just want to help a cause.

I thought a Fold = WU, which is divided in frames which when finished could help a cure

(i fold on the Ps3 OS cuz the RSX graphics is disabled in Linux & is slow

For CPU's, and GPU the work units are different sizes. I've seen 3200 point CPU WU's for the CPU and 384 point WU's for GPU's. The larger point value means a larger WU, longer to complete. That's why we talk in points, as the points tend to average the performance.

I cannot just say my rig put out 17 WU's today, true number BTW, as if they were all 384 point WU's it is less work than someone who produced 17 3200 point WU's. Not that the work is less important just that less was completed.

A solid one case rig can produce 16+K PPD, such as my sig rig. Take that number as completing a lot of WU's. A better rig, like what you are talking about can produce more.

You could figure it similar to the same way fahmon or fahspy do. Take the points that wu is worth divide by how many hrs it takes to complete and multiply by 24hrs to get ppd.

My PS3 says its going to take ~8hrs and 40 minutes to complete Project 4019 which is worth 250 points according to http://fah-web.stanford.edu/psummary.html

A PS3 could complete 2.77 of these projects in a 24 hour period netting ~693 PPD. How did you come up with 40,000 PPD?

Well i have 3 cases , 3GPU's and 3 mobos .

1= x48 DFI + 260 , i get 7500 PPD (avg)

2= P5B ASUS + 8800 GT, i get 4300 PPD (avg)

3= C19-A ECS + 8800 GTS, i get 4000 PPD (avg)


so it depends on the GPU , but the 200 siries give u over 7K points a day, 8 and 9 siries give u over 4K points a day.

ATI cards are not as good as NVIDIA's
