If you're not locking the affinity, then that's your problem IMO.
Your Welcome.

No i dont mess with affinity never seems to make a difference, tried priffinity and set affinity 2 to no avail. Dam did i rub you the wrong way?

lol.. i don't think you rubbed him the wrong way.. you can only rub grunion the right way.

on a more serious note, i haven't seen a PPD increas/decrease with physx either... with any of my nvidia cards. quite interesting there. i usually set my GPUs to affinity of real or above high. then anything else one or two affinities lower.

That is interesting, i wonder why mine chunks the ppd, i did notice it helps my SMP a ton though, maybe a setting i have? I don't mind @ all really the info would be just for me to know why my setup differs Thanks

I would start by assigning all vm ware processes to 2 cores, especially vmx.

OT nafljhy did you ever get that 4850 running?

I think maybe some guys don't realize that the GPU resets after every wu is finished. They need to use a setpriority program to make sure the GPU priority STAYS at HIGH and the SMP stays at IDLE.
