Default OCN Chimp Challenge 2009 Info/Help

What is the Chimp Challenge:
See HERE
Quote:
3 years ago the Monkey Federation challenged a group of monkey's from overclockers to a race... this was all started by our good friend and chief instigator KingFish... many at MaximumPC folding jumped in as well as others on the opposing team to make it alot larger and more fun than it was originally intended. We won that race thanks to the support of our fellow folders here.

The next year turned out to be even larger and the amazing folders at overclockers worked hard and beat us to the finish line...

Then came last year... two other teams were invited to the party... the [H]orde and Overclockers Australia... needless to say it made it even more of a fun time and the wu's completed and the interest involved increased dramatically from all the teams... and guess what... through much hard work from many of our members MPC won the third challenge...
How do I participate:
Very simple... Before May 5th, change your folding name to the official OCN chimp name OCNChimpin. Fold for the chimp for as long as the contest lasts. I am estimating it will take less than a week to declare a winner.

Folding Name: OCNChimpin
Team: 37726 (of course)

When does it start:
5/5/2009, but we should have our chimp up and running full steam before that time, as many of the other teams will.

Will there be any prizes:
Do we have a chance to win:
PLEASE SEE THIS THREAD FOR PRIZES

This all sound great... But what is FOLDING? >>HERE<<
Or post in this thread and we will put you on the right track.

Failure is not an option!!
Not only do we have a chance, I would say we are one of the lead contenders, and if we can get most of the OCN folders involved, we should be favored to win.

Edit: fixed my rebranding fail on the 9600gso from a 9800gso. Would love to give away a 9800gso if they existed.

I do not understand the benefit of folding under that username until May 5th at 12PM. Why should I change my username now? As stated, they won't count the points generated until May 5th at 12PM. So everything we do under OCNChimpin until then will be null.

It realy is up to the folder. I am not in any form of competition, other than team pride, so switching names now for me just give me time to be sure it all goes smoothly. The points will still go towards the OCN team, the difference being my points would drop and the OCNChimpin will go up.

Again, you dont need to change over till the start of the competition, but feel free to change earlier if you want. Getting everything switched over by the 24th would be preferable in case of any issues.

That grand prize when we win is awesome. That has to be enough incentive for everyone on OCN to join the chimip challenge.

I am guessing for the 5 million point prize you mean a 9600GSO?

If you only have 1-2 cards/clients, then doing it the day before or day of is easy, but some of these guys have multiple clients to switch over, and we want every point to count, so I would say switch over no later than 12 hours before it starts to make sure all your WU get into it.

I only have two clients. It'll only take a minute for me.

So if we don't win the challenge (not reach 20 million), the grand prize won't be given out?

Does it matter how much PPD you put out?

Do you have to fold 24/7?

I was under the impression that the winner of the chimp challenge only gets bragging rights, ohh and the prized jade monkey.

To win, need to be the first team to reach 20 million.

The more you fold, the better our chances of winning are. It doesn't matter if its a lot or a little, but every bit helps.

As for giving giving out the grand prize. I'd assume that if we don't win, nobody gets the grand prize since we would not hit 20 million.
