Default Gtx 260 very low ppd with monitor off ???

My luck with gtx 260's is horrible.
My evga core 216 folds with kinda low ppd compared to other 260's
Now today I found I really good deal with the BFG 260 core 216 for 150$ so I had to get it.
Now it folds perfect..great ppd but if I turn the monitor off or let the screen saver turn on it lowers my ppd by about 5000,
I have tried two different drivers and have also set the priority of folding from low to high in the folding settings and nothing..
I like to have my monitor off to save a little power.
Any help fellaz?

turn off your screensaver, It will lower your PPD since it usually requires some graphical power. Also I have had bad luck folding with screensavers, that combo always crashes my pc (thats the only thing that crashes my pc).

Having the screen off shouldn't effect anything though, maybe check through your power settings to make sure that the hard drives or anything else arnt shutting off.

Power setting are all good.its not hibernating or turning off the disks..
if I just turn off the monitor for 10 minutes the points drop from 7455 to 2001.
It gets about 1 % done in the ten minutes but as soon as I turn the monitor on it goes back to normal wich is 1% every 1 to 2 minutes..
This is very stange because I have had multpile gpu's in this system and this is the first time this has happend ????????? Very odd

Maybe the card is downclocking itself? I would take a look at this thread HERE.

yea, its either underclocking itself when it shouldn't or its going into low power mode. Set your system to full power (turn off any power saving features)

I've been having some issues with my 260's and my PPD. Make sure you set your priority to at least normal and select "all" for your affinity. These are in Task manager but I bet you already know that.
I also use a program called Process Lassso that in theory keeps your setting so you dont have to change them evry time a WU finishes.
