I fold because I can, and its for a great cause, not everyone has the money or time to always donate to help out the advancement of humanity, but in this way, at least I can help out a little bit.

simply put it is touching to see all the reasons for why people fold.

some good stories here...and some sad ones...

i fold...because of everyone else's reasons...because they have lost friends and family...So i think that their -and you guys'- effort needs to be recognized even more.

I fold because it is a great cause, it reassembles people together to do something good together. A common goal. I have met amazing people because of folding and have hopefully helped a cause the most I can. I fold because I believe that every contribution makes a difference and accelerates research and I fold because it gives me an excuse to spend money on my rig =]

I fold because, whilst I'm unsure if it will ever find a cure, it's something anyone can do to help. There's a 95% chance that when I die it will be cancer, so that also motivates me to do it.

My dad doesn't agree with a space heater.
Everything that needs this much cooling and produces this amount of heat must be catastrophic for electricity bill! (Electricity is more expensive in Holland than in US)

Sure it is tough to think about the 1k+ dollars I've put into the folding rig, and what that 1k could have done for my I7 rig, but I want to see the devastating diseases be fixed before they hurt more people.

DO I care about points, yes, but not as much as the friends and friends of friends who could benefit from a cure, and not for only cancer, but also Alzheimers and autism as well.
