I was just thinking, PPD is slightly based on luck. When it comes to GPU folding, you hope for lots of 353's and pray you don't get an 1888.
Should the points be based on how long the WU takes? For instance, a 353 giving up to 7100 PPD on my 9800GTX, and an 1888 giving around 3400 PPD. It's just not fair! Was it always this way, or has this just changed with technology?

Why do you care about points? Its to find the cure for cancer, NOT FOR POINTS, geez...... The guy who said a few months ago on these forums, "folding has a points system, sorry world". Totally pissed me off, the thought that alot of people actually do it for points and not for the cause sickens me.

Was that really necessary Shane? Who are you to assume I'm just folding for the points? They're absolutely useless. What am I going to do with them, print my FahMon out and sell it for cash? It's just for fun. Since there's a competition to drive people to become more effective folders, I was just wondering why they hadn't made it a little more fair.
I hate OCN sometimes. Even the F@H section is turning into a troll hideout. *Sigh*

How is it not fair? Do you, and everyone else that folds not get the same oppertunity to get different WU?
And do you really think anyone here has the awnser to why Stanford Univiristy does certain things?

Yes it is indeed folding for the cause, I completely agree. But the uptake for some is a competition with themselves and others to try and produce the most points possible.
I fold for the cause of curing cancer but putting down 20k ppd the first time feels like a real milestone. It makes me think about what I can do to squeeze more out of my gear or where can I pick up that next cheap GPU to add another 7-8k.
