Default GPU squeals while folding

Always when I open the GPU folding client my GPU starts to squeal, what can I do to get rid of this annoying noise?

Using the search function would help. Squealing is normal, and there is no way to get rid of it. Some people have RMA'd, but theres a very good chance that your next card would squeal as well.

yes, it is normal for the vregs to squeal. my MSI GTX 260 does this only under a full load. with normal gaming it's silent.

Áudible indicator if your driver has crashed. If I don't hear the squeal it tells me it has dropped out of 3d mode & I need a restart, or that I haven't overclocked them enough.

sometimes if you overclock your shaders enough the noise pitch gets so high that you wont be able to hear it as much.

Yeah OP you should really get familiar with google and the OCN search function...

HA!

I am doing the same with my card...good way to know if somethings gone wrong..

Yeah like everyone else is saying its quire normal....i actually had an MSI 260 GTX before my 4870 and it never squealed whilst my current card sounds like a pig at the slaughter house...neither my 9800GTX or 4850 ever squealed either

I have been contemplating RMAing the card but as said before its pretty common so most likely i'd end up with another card that has the same "problem"

I wouldn't recommend trying this unless your card has no warranty...if not what do you have to lose
