Folding as Community Service?

I've been thinking about things to build my resume with, and if you end up breaking like the Top 500 for our team would that be worth noting as community service? Or would it fit in anywhere on a resume?

The idea just popped into my head, not holding much stock in it. Feel free to shoot me down. Nicely.

I mean unless the guy hiring is a big folder, but then he may be jealous and you not get the job either..

If folding was community service, it would make it a lot easier getting those hours for school

I would say if anything it would make for a "Hobby" if at some point in an interview or of the sort were to ever come in a conversation.

Yes it makes sense lmao. I kinda figured it was a lost cause, might end up putting it in as a hobby. If you're going for a tech job and you are able to explain what it is/how it works I think it's possible that it could help a least a little bit. Thanks for the input.

I don't know if you could put that in as true to be honest. I remember there was a thread a while back about whether Folding could be considered a charity or not. Eventually it seemed that since there isn't any concrete proof that folding is leading to cures (all it is is research), it isn't classed as a charity.

Could put it down as "Assisting Stanford University with protein research" if you really wanted though
