Ok I'm new to the folding thing, I'm using the rig in my sig to fold right now. I've already been doing some folding trying to make the team.
Now it says I'm getting 2604.86 iter/second on my 8800GTX would that be bad? also how could i improve my performance with this presscott till i get a C2D. Thanks. I'm not running any of those Vmware client stuff like that just the GPU folding@home program. I also have the Folding at home for CPU I think? Thanks again.

First of all... Welcome to the Fold
![]() Now on to your questions. To be honest, no-one on OCN uses iter/s. We go by PPD (Points Per Day). You can find this by installing Fahmon. To improve folding on your 8800GTX, download and install Evga Precision, unlock the core and shader clocks, and OC the shader clocks only (they're the only ones that affect folding). For your CPU, download and install the SMP client from here. Here's a guide to get it setup. And here's another Fahmon guide for the SMP. Should be enough to get you started

I think that folding on your cpu might rob from your gpu, lowering its over all ppd. I would just focus on oc'ing that gtx. It'll do really well, and you should break into the top 1500 in no time.

The only thing that will improve folding on the P4 will be to overclock it. Even then you won't be getting very many points with it. About 400ppd I would guess, probably less than that.

I hit around 4k PPD, so you should hit somewhere close to there with your 8800. Folds quite nicely, but don't expect ginormously huge gains.
Zodac hit on basically everything though. urrah folding

Its a P4 with HT, so he can run a SMP client and get something like prifinity to set the priority so it isn't robbing the GPU of the few needed CPU cycles.
__________________My 8800 GT brings in 6k PPD at best and my 8800 GTS brings in 5600 PPD at best least they bring on average is a little above 4400 ppd Just OC those shaders to the max and drop the core if you need to.
