Default how is this possible?

I came back to folding no to long ago, and i find out the we have new cores and new drivers(190.xx), and every time that my GPU crash it drops its clocks from 702/1693/1188 to 400/700/500, but i dont get EUE , cause once i restart folding it works on the same WU.

Can any one tell me why? , sorry but a bit rusty at this

Hey AZ! Is your clock speeds completely stable? I can't say for sure, but when my speeds aren't stable, the drivers stop and restart and it causes my cards to run like you know what! I will have them stess tested for hours, then after some hard gaming, the drivers will stop and restart, letting me know it's not stable. Once this happens, it doesn't run right until I do a reboot. I don't know if this is what is happening in your case, but I thought I would throw it out there.

yep thats it, i have to restart to get my clocks back, but the main question is why i dont get EUE, like it used to happen , and i know 1728 shader is a no go with my card, and whole gaming i can't even hit 1620, but 1692 works good

I was trying one more shader strap but it didnt work, and not seen EUE there got me worry thats all

I think i got a card that dont overclock good thats it

I fold on a 285 24/7 and it can run without problems for days or weeks then suddenly downclock itself for no apparent reason. After a restart it's all good again. I don't know what the cause is either.

You need rivatuner... I forget where the link is but rivatuner has an option to force the clocks. The GTX series downclock themselves when not in use and apparently folding doesn't count as "use" for them. I was having the same problem and through rivatuner I haven't had them downclock a single time and I fold on 2 285's and a 216 260 24/7.

There. It looks intimidating to setup but it's really not. He provides a complete step-by-step setup.

Nope, resetting the values with afterburner or rivatuner does absolutely nothing until a restart.

?? I am not talking about just resetting the values... I am talking about FORCING 3d performance mode clocks. It does work... I was having this exact problem when I came back to folding not long ago. Check out the link in my previous post.

I tried that a week ago, but it still resets to 400/800 after a driver crash from unstable overclock.

That's a completely separate issue if it's an unstable overclock.

On a 285 1693 is a high shader clock though people do run at that strap. You may want to bump it down to the next strap as well as use rivatuner to make sure it's not the overclock.

Lemme know if this helps, if not feel free to pm me I will help ya get it running smooth.
