Default Need some clarification

Please correct me if I'm wrong......

1. The SMP clients are for CPU use and are optimized for multicore CPUs. There is no SMP client for GPUs.

2. There isn't any way to increase performance or PPD with a single-core GPU by using any client other than the standard Windows GPU client (that runs in the system tray) or the Windows console client.

Thanks in advance.

You're correct for both points.

1) True, although VMwares give better PPD than SMP clients.

2) True again, although the console version gives slightly better PPD. And of course, OCing the shader clocks of the card will give better PPD too.

Thank you both very much for the replies.

I have my card overclocked to 733/1588/1138 which is as high has I can go 24/7 at stock voltage and I don't want to do a voltage mod.

So the bottom line is that with the card I have, there isn't anything I can do to increase my PPD... IE there is no GPU client for use in VMWare etc that works better than the GPU Windows or Console client.

Nope. The only reason we CPU fold on a VMware is because Linux folds on the CPU better than Windows. That's not the issue for GPU though.

Try dropping your Memory/Core clocks a bit to see if you can go up another shader strap though.
