If you mean ubuntu running native vs it running in a VM, native will get more PPD but not much more.
If your talking Notfreds/error10 in VMware vs Ubuntu in VMware, Ubuntu would be lower PPD, but not by much.

Native ubuntu will be slightly higher.
There's people in the SMP comp that can attest to that.

Hands down solo Ubuntu takes the PPD crown. But not by much. The loss of 5-10% isn't much if you consider all the time wasted dual booting, and reloading OS's to game, work, etc.
