As there is no tutorial for SMP in Windows 7 i followed the Vista one..
first issue.. in msconfig there is no option to disable UAC so i carried on regardless. i uninstalled my unipro client and downloaded 6.23 beta for MPICH (32-bit or 64-bit) followd up to step 6 and recived the If you see this twice, MPI is working If you see this twice, MPI is working when i go to run the F@H exe it flashes open and closes.. im stuck here... +rep for help!

Have you tried running it under the admin account to see if that helps?

Well to begin things off here is a link on disabling UAC in 7. Just the first link I found in Google but it works.
Also did you get the new drop in executable from here? Were you able to get to the config portion of the setup?

Did you run the executable from the command prompt or from the desktop?

If you're hell bent on running the Win client I'm sure we can figure it out but what MadCat posted is a whole lot easier to set up and get running.
As far as setting it up the directions on the Stanford site say run it from the command prompt and running config only at first. Specifically {executable name} -configonly -smp to begin with. And with the Win client I don't think you have to specify the number of cores for the smp flag.
