Well, for the school/s I'll get permission.. and I'm sure when I explain to our better customers what the project is about everything will be good.
Thanks for the advice guys: and I'm guessing the answers for my questions were for Elite folders only so I'lll just back off for a while and get my first WU completed. (Sueing people:? I've never met anyone who has either sued or been sued). Gotta love the free world! No hurry Eh?

![]() You do definitely need permission to run this on other peoples' systems, but as long as you get it, you're good to go. If you want to install it to run stealthily once you get permission, just run the console version and select it to run as a service. It will only show up under the processes tab of the task manager, so users will not notice it running. You cannot get the graphical client to run on two cores. Some people have had success with running one graphical and one console version on a dual core system, but Stanford recommends two console versions. And yes, every WU does help, so any level of contribution is appreciated.

Now that's the stuff, bugger about the GUI, I'd prefer to run 2 at 50% than 1 on at 100% but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Legal: Understood will seek owners permission first... I'm optimistic but I get let down often so no promises. Console version? so when I run it i get the option to run it as a service? Hopefully if comes with a helpfile so I can work my way through maximum load & priority. Just for an experiment I was running 50% on one core was getting 4:15/frame @ 48-50°c, gave one core 100% and now eta 1:55/frame @ 60°c

When you first run the console version (and anytime you run it with the -config flag), it will ask you if you want to run it as a service. Just say yes, and you're all set.

Well It's all coming together! Thanks for your help Taeric! Go the Amiga!! That screenie was taken from my ORIGINAL A500 roms, Going to do the same with my 2.4 roms and animate it next time I get really bored!
Just installed the service on my telly to check how it runs (only a pIII 600). Stupidly easy to set up thanks. Only one Q about the machine ID - is that per computer for multiple processors or for multiple processors under one name? Using FahMon to monitor is cool, and this proggy from Taeric's linkies is exactly what I was wanting Administrative Install - Folding at Work
