Red face Sry if it's allready been asked?

To fold don't you have to be linked to their server or somthing? and if so waht are the security risks involved? I ask cuz my dad is a real strickler 'bout network security but both of us are kinda stupid 'boutthe way we do things. He doesnt back up 'n stuff, and i try to reengineer our network everyother week or 2 to see if i can fianlly host a game server....

No, you only send Work Units every time you finish them, it's just basic Internet connection, nothing complex... And I doubt there are any risks at all... it's not more dangerous than sending e-mail...

Starting to fold again. Just started it up since my reformat about 2-3 months ago and forgot to reinstall.

But anywho... As soon as it updates my first WU, I'll repost.

Not sure if this works but I'd just backup the entire folding folder, reformat & reinstall windoze, then reinstall folding at home then stop the programme and dump the old backed up one over the top of the newly installed on - should just carry on but I've never tried it. Just make sure you completely kill the tasks first.

Edit: Or just Ghost to swap Hard-drives.

You can indeed simply back up the FAH directory, and it will continue from the previous spot on the current WU.
