call me dumb.. i read all the FAQ's and the folding website.. but is it really necessary to have this many computers just to do some calculations of how proteins assemble themselves and how they may cause diseases? It is that hard??
__________________so basically, when a computer is folding, it's doing calculations/simulations for the scientist or whoever that's behind all this?... Has there been any break-through results? how does this really help solve anything?

Alright, I've got three different computers available to me at the office where I work that aren't really used too much, so I d/led the graphical client and am hoping I can get two of the three rigs folding. I've only got one rig up and running right now. Username is Raptor - hopefully this'll provide some help.

how long does it take to get your name up on stanfords site?
I have 2.5 rigs folding as of last night.... 1 is this one (28s/frame), another is a soft 1.3ghz machine that is the secretary's(1:49/frame) and my old, old, old, OLD work machine that I still use 601mhz (2:33s/frame) LMAO will have another few rigs up soon, just dont feel like shutting them down to install the program *edit* just added another 1.3ghz machine (1m11s/frame) and a 2.66ghz machine (no speed estimate as of yet)

Once you finish a work unit (WU), your name will appear on the FAH Stats at the next update.

how do i check to see if my name has been listed on stamford list?
