Each core only gets downloaded once, however, and there are a fairly limited number of cores. My F@H directory on this computer (at work) is well under 20 MB, though I would expect my home computers to have a bit more space devoted to folding since they've been at it longer.

As for the 0/12500, that WU likely updates once every 1%, so check back after a while to see if it incremented.
Hi taeric,

I'll post here so that others may find this to be an FAQ as well.
Ok, I asked earlier about adding a rig or 2 to folding. However, I'm on the Folders Inc team and currently have 3 rigs folding for that team.

My question remains. How do I load FAH on the 2 other computers, register them to me (455buick), get credit for team 37726, but NOT run over the limits for Folders Inc and the team limits there...

I just tried to downloading the FAH .exe program to another rig, but your earlier statment of using team_folders_inc does not work... Hmmm

I don't want to fold and be anonymous. I would like the credit of completed WU's for my 455buick sig name. This was the center of my original question.. How do you, keep additional rigs from being tagged to the team competition stuff?

Does all of this make sense? I would like 5 rigs folding, but only 3 being credited to Folders Inc. The other 2 rigs to 37726... However, all of them need to be tagged to me (455buick) by Stanford and overclock.net. Can this even be done?

Thanks in advance, :-)

You can run more than one but it splits the clock cycles, thus takes twice as long to do a work unit. about like running hyperthreading.

Hi Double Helix,

I think you are right! You need to run 2 different user names... That's something I don't really want to do and probably won't...

That's why the original question to taeric...

Thanks for the input and agreement, :-)

Hi jrabb,

Were you referring to my post on the addition of computer rigs?? I wasn't going to split the clock cycles on one rig.. I would like to add one maybe two more rigs. They are both older cpu's. An XP1600+ and possibly an XP1800+. The latter one is currently being used by my middle daughter. She does Sims games and music - a lot!! So this rig wouldn't get too much done...

I was just asking to help team 37726 get past the next few teams and for myself to get out of the 87th place hole I'm in...

Thanks, :-)

Hey 455buick,

I think you indeed need 2 usernames folding for 37726. These two names, although show separately on standford website, their points are combined and only credit to you on overclock.net. For team competition, the director only needs to count work from the username that you have agreed to be counted toward the team. So you have the both the credits from the username that in team competition and the username w/o team competition, and have all folding for 37726.

For the director, he/she will need to add your 2nd username on standford to YOUR username on overclock.net. At the end of the month, he/she will have to count work from one username of you only for the team competition. A few line of code would work out nice if this feature hasn't been cooperated.

Sorry for the confusing language, I tried.

For general info you can run more than one console version on a single cpu, like I said it will split the clock cycles and with the same user name, you have to go into config setup and give them a cpu ID, just like if your running more than one cpu.

I just downloaded the folding@home software and started on my first work unit, but I have dial-up too, and I'm concerned about up/downloading large stuff. Using my CPU is fine, but I'm not the one paying the bills, so.. Are there any options I should modify? What about the deadlines, should I work with WU without deadlines? I connect at least once a day to the internet.

Hi thiru,

Great, and Welcome to folding!
As for your question. You should work with "Deadlineless" WU's (work unit) You can go to the configure option from the little icon on your task bar and set it up there.
As for dial up. I think you can set that up as well, to dial out when the WU is completed. As long as the correct info concerning IE and such is used. It's also in the configure menu. In the confugure menu there's a tab for connections. Use that, and FAH will dial out when completed, if you give it the option/permission to do so.

I hope this helped, :-)
