The best setup for you is to run VMware + Ubuntu on the quad, and the GPU2 client on the card. The VMware guide is in the essentials thread, and the GPU2 client is in the beta downloads on Stanfords site.

you run both.
vmware + ubuntu setup will run on your CPU while the GPU2 client (you guessed it) runs on your GPU.
with XP, a quad and a 9800 your best setup would probably be.
1 vmware machine on cores 0 and 1, another on core 2, then your GPU client can run on core 3.
if you run vista however GPU client does not need its own core, but in XP it uses a full core.

Start in part:
TAB 1 GENERAL:
Were it has the logo with folding@home
sure this could be the place but unsure.
then press tab at the top to go to next part listed below:
TAB 2 SHORTCUT:

run: can not be in here i know as you can not type owt here.

Also you make 2 folders, Folding@home-gpu1 & Folding@home-gpu1
i put both in the program files folder and place both in the f@h folder correct?
also :This part also confusses me : i go to c? document and settings/ then i have 2 folders all users,and blakie33, do i go into blakie33?
im sure i do.Then start menu/programs and place both folders in here also.
Then place the f@h exe file into each and start first and run it and set it all up ,User name,Team number ext and close it all up.
Now start 2nd exe in the gpu2 folder and do the same thing,and do what i did with the 1st folder.
then i do the shortcuts,Like i mentioned above.And place shortcuts on desctop for example.
is this all correct? or when i have done both folders is this when i copy and paste both into the programs/f@home folder?
I hope i have explained properly.As this has taken me weeks of installing and deleting to try and get them both running seperatly.
Also do i uninstall drivers? and take of the SLI bridge connector? as i know i have to disable SLI configuration in Nvidia control pannel.
If anything is wrong can some one correct me. thanks as i know theres guides but i can not make head nor tail of them.

& folding on windows xp pro,
sorry .Do i place these 2 folders inside or out in C:\Documents and Settings\BLAKIE33\Start Menu\Programs ? as there this folder already in it for cpu folding.

Blakie, you will get a better response if you post a new thread. Most members don't look in here. I have never folded with multiple cards, so I don't have an answer for you. Good luck.

I'm seeing mixed reviews everywhere, but OCN is the place I trust.

Is it smart for me to run the smp client ni addition to the Nvidia CUDA GPU folding client at the same time? I'm told they fight for attention on the same core or something like that.

Also will this result in a performance hit?
