The folding application uses very few network resources. It just has to download work units and upload results at most once or twice a day for a minute or two.

I just started folding and my first WU is 20000 frames. The estimated end is Tuesday, the 16th of October, 2007! That's 416 days away! Is a 20000 frame WU normal? The FAQ by Stainless used 1000 as an exaggeration for the first question, but mine is 20 times as big!

That is normal at first. Once the F@H prog figures out your systems productivity that will change
Your system may take about 3-4 days to do a 20,000 frame unit, or less.

The default is always 30 minutes per frame until it gets some work done, so you can do the math on some of the huge WUs.

I have a question. I've been Folding for a little over two years now, off and on, but i've been connected with team "24", OCers of Australia. Is there any way for me to change my team? I mean, I know I can just re-install and list as a new team, but would my current stats transfer to a different team?

thanks.

Ok, I'm using the console version now so that I can run F@H on each of my cores which I've set up successfully. What I'm wondering now though, is there no way to minimise it while it's running?

Unfortunately, there's no way to transfer your points from one team to another. We would be more than happy to have you fold for our team, though. If you're running the console version, just add the -config flag to your folding shortcut, and you can enter our team, 37726. If you're running the graphical version, just go into the config window and enter the new team number. As soon as the next WU is submitted, the points will count for our team.

You can minimize the console version to the taskbar, but that's about it unless you run it as a service. If you go that route, the console should not appear at all.
