Does anyone know how to convert a dem file to an avi file?

Ive been using Fraps and it will work...using unregistered version though...

Yeah but i want to convert a demo i already have i made thru steam, its in a dem format but i want to convert it to an avi format, im not paying money to buy fraps the free version is only a 30 second demo then cuts off, besides the demo i have made already is what i want to convert to avi, any other suggestions? there has to be a way to convert a dem file to an avi file.

is .dem a radgametools format? or Bink video? if it is you can D/L the gear you need easy(free) @ http://www.radgametools.com/default.htm
this is just a guess and may be completely wrong

its neither, its a file created by counterstrike source .. .dem stands for demo and its meant to watch in css... thats why its a weird type but the only way ive found how to do this is to use fraps rain

to be honest with u i think the only program that supports .dem files is source based games,thats why u have to re-rocord your demo
