For some perspective, my COD4 clan removed all of our custom maps in rotation and put stock back on. Our hardcore server dropped down the ranks immediately and was rarely ever over half full while custom maps were on. Now, it's constantly full again.

I know this is about TF2, but just throwing out some info on another pub server.

I am close to giving up on using OCN game servers. The fact that an admin is NEVER on and that there seems to be a complete lack of interest in responding to a problem from the users is almost too much.

If you guys wanted a successful TF2 server things would be different. You would be adding trendy plugins and scripts to the server. You would have admins on that actually play and moderate the games. Instead of having 8 admins and them almost NEVER being online. You would have a few high rated custom maps from FPSBanana and know how to make the downloads work properly.

The way this server is being ran is cause for great concern. I am new to the OCN community, but I can tell you I will not be participating in game servers if things do not change soon.

I agree with this. Warpath and Castle3 are two of the most common (and well-played) custom maps out, and I think it adds an interesting mix to our server. I do agree that the download issue needs to be fixed, and needs to be fixed quickly. Unfortunately there's not much I can do. Has anyone PM'ed Evil_XP about this?

I cannot speak for the other admins, but I work and have college courses to take, etc, so I cannot spend 24/7, or even close to it, online playing TF2. That being said, I am still often available on steam during evenings (which is generally when the server actually has people in it), and should be available to fix problems should they arise. And I know you have me in your friends list Chili, so holler at me if something's wrong! If anyone else would like to have me in their Steam friends list as a contact, PM me and I'll give you my info.

This TF2 server, and the way it is administered, is still new. We're still working out the bugs, figuring out what people want, etc. Be patient, and we'll get everything worked out.

Nihilist was on, Chili, and I think he's an admin. Not positive, though.

There's not an issue with the admins. They're cool and they're on when they can be. However, they tend to all be on at the same time which was not good planning on the part of the ocn admin that chose them. Something should be done about these custom maps, which is the point of this thread.

I do not know if anyone has PM'd him. Are you going to? or should I take that upon myself to do? I would really like to get it fixed and worked out. I am tired of seeing the server full and the people suddenly disappear upon map change.

I guess I did not want to bother you for the same reasons you stated. My logic was that if you were not in the game, than I should not bother you about the game. I will contact you in the future about problems.

I respect you guys and understand that it is still new. However, it seems that the impression being given is that the server is difficult to set up and get running correctly. And, that is just simply not true. It would take a person who knows what they are doing with Mani and Gameservers a matter of minutes to add scripts, remove scripts, add maps, modify downloads. I have done it as an admin on a popular CSS server.

That is the part which annoys me the most about this server. It seems like there is so many able-bodied individuals in the mix, but no one is giving it more than 5 minutes at a time.

There is not an issue with the admins in how you are making it sound like I said.

My only point is that they are never on, and if they are it is all together like you stated. I have played many hours on the OCN server and only an extremely small amount of time has there been admins present. The admins do a great job WHEN they are on the server.

Dude whatever. That's not how I meant it. If you took it that way I'm sorry. Chill. I don't need any crap arguing with someone on an internet forum.

I said I'm sorry, and I'm saying it when I didn't do what you accused me of so let it rest. I'm sorry.
