Reserved Slots for OCN Members on the TF2 Server - Overclock.net

When we just decide to have a pick up game tonight, the server was so full that some members could not get in. As great as this is, I think it would be nice if the members of OCN could have precedence over other players. I've been kicked from servers before due to Slot Reservations and I think it would be a nice thing for OCN members to have.

I understand that not everyone who joins the site should get an immediate priority over others (it may not be so bad, though, we'd just have to see) but maybe a rep limit, post count, or join date cutoff so that the forum can reward active members.

Anyway, leave your thoughts and ideas and I'll make sure the mods get a chance to see this thread.

I'll wait on forum feedback until I make any real decision about it, the issue is the forum is so large that we'd have more members with reserved slots then slots available... generally for an even we can throw a password onto the server temporarily to keep out unwanted public players... speaking of which if you have any ideas for events on this server

i guess i would be for it too... is the ip on the homepage correct? i couldn't get it to show up

Yeah, the one on the homepage is wrong. The right address is: 8.12.68.58:27015

And I think it would be nice to maybe have a rep limit or something that when too many people have reservations, it could be bumped up. Or maybe time played on the server, etc. I'm really sure of the capabilities of the server to implement a system but maybe if there were an hierarchy of sorts, where established members would be above other members.

Having a password would be nice to an extent if we were just having a single game, but when people are in and out it is nice to "fill in the gaps" with non-members.

The more I think about this, the more I wonder how it would work out... but I still like the idea.

oh this would be nice!!! too bad i could for the game...it was around 5 am in the morning...id just slept at 3am!!!

I don't own the game yet but intend to grab it next. I am all for this. The OCN community should have seniority over everyone else. Maybe there should be 2 TF2 servers...one for the gen. public and 1 that's password protected for decorated OCN members....I mean...how much does a TF2 server cost a month? I bet you could get some donations for this.
