Default Dr. House Ordered a Better Mic

So he won't be screaming at you for you to hear him in the OCN server. !

I've been using a crappy ASUS mic that came with my motherboard 3 years ago, and lord it ONLY pics up sound when I holler. I just ordered another Zalman Clip-on mic for 6$, best mic I ever owned [before i let my friend borrow it and never saw it again! ]

http://www.xoxide.com/zmmic1.html See you on the server.

Was the asus microphone in question one of those sunbeam array mics that came with motherboards such as the M2N32 or P5WDH by any chance?

Eh, my mother has no BT dongle/built in and it's one more system resource. But it's not bad, I'm just old fashioned and cheap I guess.

Hate to break it to you but those mics only work properly with the motherboard (or more correctly onboard audio) they came with. If you connected it to your X-FI then only one of the recievers would be functional (semi-functional at that). I ran into the same issue almost a month ago, then I plugged it into my M2N32 and boy was the it loud and clear. The mic is actually a very good one, the reliance on driver/motherboard is what kills it.

Do give you an idea of how good it is, I could stand at my door and record my voice (mic boost on obviously) clearly and the recording didn't even contain the hum of case fans.

I loved my zalman one, only issue was that the cable was tiny/thin and resulted in its untimely demise.
