Now this is just an idea, don't get mad at me if you think it's stupid.

I've been thinking that we can share hardware between each other for benching. Like for example if someone has an SSD they can lend it to other members for PCmark05. Or if someone has a Dice pot they can share that, etc.

There are a few downsides to this though:

A member can keep the hardware and not send it back (really hope someone on OCN wouldn't do that)

Might get damaged during shipping

Shipping costs

Up sides:

We can get more points without paying a lot

Working together to get the most points possible


What do you guys think?

It was result in broken hardware, people not wanting to pay costs and theft.

the only time hardware sharing isn't allowed on HWBot is sharing a cpu for cpu tests and a gpu for gpu tests. Everything else is ok

Where is Warsaw? Its not a horrible idea but what is the point of benching hardware that is not yours? I can see where barrowing a DICE pot for a bit would be fun though

The idea of this is so people can do well in benchmarks without having to shell out a lot of cash. For example a guy with a GPU (any GPU for that matter) might have trouble getting a high aquamark score, but with a c2d or similar clocked high he could get the score he needs.

I don't think this will work out though.

Actually hardware sharing was mentioned but not nearly as much as posting duplicate results was along with faked accounts. Nothing related to sharing DICE pots and the like - What you guys were talking about is OK as far as I can tell since nothing was mentioned about CPU's or GPU's.

Mentioned it as a word of caution because I don't want to see anyone place their neck on the chopping block over something like that - You know how temptation works.
You guys are doing great and it would be sad to see it ruined.
