You'll want to go into the BIOS and raise your FSB in small increments (5 or so a time). As you increase the FSB you will probably need to increase the voltage to make it stable. But don't raise it unless you have to. Also set your multiplier for the CPU as high as it will go. Remember not to put too many volts through it. You can also have a fiddle with the CPU:RAM ratio dividers (or whatever they're called

Hmm. Start at around your stock which is 2.8 right? Try getting to 3.0 then incrementally up from there by 10 MHz each time. To see what you highest stable is. Please also fill in the system specs for us. That way we could accurately give you a prediction and advice. A must have for OC'ing CPU
s is a quality PSU. This is for 4.0 GHz = 471FSB x 8.5 Multiplier = 4001MHz

Yes it is normal. What you want to do is go into BIOS, AND IN M.B intelligent and click on that. Then you should enable something that allows you to change the FSB or Front Side Bus. Increase in increments of 5mghz or 0.01 and make sure you sun a stability test and check your temperatures. Make sure you increase your multiplier to max and then work of that with the FSB. Make sure that it is stable. If it doesn't boot up that means you either don't have enough voltage or its overheating. Make sure you only increase volts when necessary. That is when it boots and you check and it is running at the maximum volts you have allowed.
You should be able to get it to at least 3.4Ghz.

__________________But Im not sure whats correct which program to trust ya know I havent really overclocked anything did my card a bit but then freaked out when I did the overclock and reset it. Should I set the Bios in the setting to the default or maybe call the guys that set my Bios when they put everything in the case first? There is 4 fans on this case as well SO i was hoping it would run cool.

Chances are the guys who built your machine didn't do much except for what was needed if anything. You can use the default settings in the BIOS and it should be OK.
__________________After restoring your BIOS default settings, be sure to make notes of what you've done while changing settings and keep these changes minimal until you know more about the BIOS. HWMonitor is a program you can use to see what your temps are within Windows but remember it's software and not 100% accurate, more like 90 - 95% on average. You can get it here: http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php
