Default OCN Time Challenge - Benchmarking Contest - REVISED!



Contest Dates:

Start Date is August 1st, 2009 - End Date is October 17th, 2009



RULES:

  1. You may enter only one class. So choose carefully.
  2. You are allowed to change your class if you change hardware or cooling preferences, however your scores in the previous class will be removed.
  3. Each class has it's own specific rules which must be followed.
  4. All entries must be submitted through HWBot.org for the OCN team and be valid.
  5. Any entry submitted before the start date of or after the end date of the contest will not be considered a valid entry (any attempt to circumvent this rule by deleting and resubmitting an entry will during the contest will result in disqualification and removal from this and possible future contests).
  6. The contest will use the following programs:
    1. SuperPi 1M (v1.5)
    2. SuperPi 32M (v1.5)
    3. wPrime 32M (v1.55)
    4. wPrime 1024M (v1.55)
    5. PiFast (v4.1)
  7. Placement will be determined by the lowest total score of all five programs.
  8. All hardware must be the same for all four benchmarks (speeds can differ).
  9. There is no registration per say, however your entry into a specific class will be determined by your first entry into the competition on or after the competition start date.
  10. To be eligible for the Grand Prize Drawing you must place first in one of the seven available classes.

Xtreme Class
No cooling restrictions
No Chip Restrictions

i7 Class
Intel i7 chips only
Air or Water cooling only

Intel Quad Class
Intel Quad Core chips only (No i7 chips)
Air or Water cooling only

Intel Dual Class
Intel Dual Core chips only (No Quads or i7 chips)
Air or Water cooling only

AMD X4 Class
AMD Quad Core chips only
Unlocked (4 cores) X3 and X2 chips included
Air or Water cooling only

AMD X3 Class
AMD Tri-Core chips only (No unlocked Quad Cores)
Air or Water cooling only

AMD X2 Class
AMD Dual Core chips only (No unlocked Quad Cores)
Air or Water cooling only

i7 Class

1st - $25
2nd - $15

The wPrime makes quad kind of a must but it still looks very interesting. I'll wait till September before I start benching. Need a cold night.

EDIT: I might get a mugen 2 for this contest. I can win back some of the money that I paid for the cooler.

I do have some better scores but I haven't submitted them to hwbot yet, It's very lonely there cause I'm the only one with Phenom 965 scores, but that will soon change over the following days I'm sure, it's just nice to claim the trophies for a little bit. I'm gonna try for some even higher scores over the coming weeks.
