last year: 1300 on my first system, 700 watercooling it
this year: completely new system: 2300 and counting... Im bout to do custom acrylic casing that nobody knows about, and probably a video card upgrade soon as the 9900 comes out and thats if its worth buying

Well under $1000, maybe $400 a year?
My hard drives are just 7200.9's but as they are in RAID they still keep up nicely.

I think after I finally build this system that I'll upgrade my mobo & cpu every 2 years. Seeing that I don't play a lot of games, I think my gpu will last at least a year if not two.
