My sig rig was bought August o7, and since then the only things I've upgraded/bought for it was a 500GB HDD, a CPU cooler and the beloved Antec 900. <3 Which is 300$ for those 3 things. (Denmark is expensive.) And I'm not planning on upgrading anything until the Nehalem becomes cheap as dirt and is being given away free. :P Or until I'm bored one day with alot of $$ in my wallet.

EDIT: Actually 3.

If you watercool and watercool each new system decently you are talking of $1,100 even before you buy the first actual computer component. Then add a top of the line CPU, 8GB of PC2000 RAM, triple SLi 280GTX setup on a Nvidia 780i board, etc, and you are quickly over $10K. That is without a screen, operating system and input devices, as I assume that you have those.

$1,300 from last year to today on random stuff. I had a computer bite the dust, so I had to get new parts. They sucked, so I got nice parts

It's just an estimate (I searched for my order history on Newegg for just last year), but I spend between 1000 and 2000 dollars every year on computer parts. I've pretty much revamped my computer at least once every single year, and I have 0 of my original parts from my first computer in my current rig.

I do, however, have nearly all the original pieces of my first computer around the house, with the exception of the case and power supply. Which is pretty nice.

I remember once I was building a rig and my videocard wouldn't fit (tried fitting an AGP into a PCI express), so I went on NewEgg and bought two cards, haha. Two 8800GTs. It was awesome.

But yeah, 1000 - 2000 for me. I've already spent a grand this year, and I'll probably put another grand into accessories like a monitor and sound card. I love computers.

Yep, I am in that camp.

Going to have to buy her a Mac Air next year so that she gives me my Games Laptop($3,000+) back and does not notice the amount that I spend on my rigs, NAS, remote PC/TV setup, etc.
