Not to rain on the happy parade, but I would never use this, heres why;
1) There are many internet radio stations, with better functionality.

2) Some services let me choose the artists I want to hear, pandora, last.fm and have dedicated accounts from which I build upon.

3) The audio quality is just to low.

I'm sure others would cringe at this as I have.
I wanted to give some feedback, even though its bad.

Question: With all the hoopla about the royalties these types of services are being forced to shell out atm, where does the funding for this type of project come from?

Yep this was basically my point too.

There are many f these out there and honestly...

If I want to go discuss general things I go on my personal rage

If I want to go discuss computers I go on OCN

ANd if I want to liastne to music I go to pandora

OCN is a great website. Lets not bloat it with things such as this . I can stand the blogs because it is more computer related but not really this

I am just trying to show my idea and not trying to start a war here.

I agree that there are more personalized music experiences out there. This is a very simplistic option for the members who want this.

In terms of royalties, they are handed by the online radio stations themselves. We are simply bringing more members to their existing streams.

What I would do is try to just add the Shoutcast radio list. Mainly .977 Hitz Radio.. SO GOOD. Listen to it on Foobar <3
Now, other than that we can just have a private OCN radio. I can send you a PM for more info but basically it's like not that expensive. Get nice large slot shoutcast radio and then some DJ's () and then just a request line (DJ CP) and a DJ Timeslot (there are a lot of these that are freeware and can be changed by the actual DJ's)....

I used to do this all the time. It's awesome

These addons should not be a distraction to the main forums. These are peripheral addons to what we already provide. It's not like we are fundamentally changing the focus of the forums themselves.

We were discussing a spinoff of this idea a couple weeks ago, a sort of podcast that would include a weekly news highlight, and possibly folding stats, current deals, and member milestones. Any chance that has made progress? I almost get overwhelmed trying to keep up on all the news, it would be nice to have a "highlights" podcast like weekly or bi-weekly.
