use a real egg.... Take a needle and poke one end... drain the egg and rinse it out, boil the shell for ~ 10 minutes. Prime it to add strength, and then carefully sand the end with the hole until you half a half-egg shell.

Go to Michaels The Arts & Crafts Store or Joan Fabric and Craft store. Thats were I got my Easter Eggs (of all sizes) and the foam.
