Each month, Overclock.net will be awarding a prize for "Mod of the Month" - the best hardware modification featured on Overclock.net - as selected by members. Here's how it will work:
Please post your nomination for Mod of the Month in this thread. [IN CASE OF A TIE] I give the winners the choice of either holding a tie breaker or splitting the prize. Just in case the finalists don't choose the same option. We default to splitting the prize money between the winners. I did this because most ties result in two people. As you know, there is a good chance that they will not choose the same option. For the Tie breakers we hold a little competition that will put their modding skills to the test. We pick out a common and inexpensive building material for our finalists. This material will be the only component that our finalists can use in the construction of the tie breaking object. The object they build could be any number of things. We may decide that they will use their materials to make a bird house. We may have them create A mouse holster. We could set a task like build the tallest structure using only McDonald's straws, and string to hold it all together. This method gives us endless possibilities to use as tie breakers. To guarantee a winner from the tie breaker we will use a panel consisting of an odd number of judges instead of an open poll. These judges will consist of Forum Members as well as Staff Members. Half of the judges will be veteran modders, the rest will be non modders. The judges will be instructed to grade the object in several different categories. If the object was required to perform a task that will be the first thing the judges will look at.

Quote:
This month we will only allow uncompleted mods if we have less than three nominations that are complete. You can Nominate more than one. You can also nominate last months nominees that did not win last month. Each case mod can be entered in two separate competitions total. Lets get nominating!!!!

As far as the bench goes, I cannot morally take credit for that. Sure, I started on the chiller, but after the incident with that, I will no longer be able to finish it. And the test bench is all Syrillians' work.
